We have all encountered problems logging in to an app or website using our e-mail address and password. This might be because you had to change your e-mail address or maybe you forgot your password. Almost every company that offers an application or website requiring a connection has to deal with this problem at some stage. Faced with this recurring problem, companies have actively been seeking reliable solutions to guarantee their users’ connection in a simpleyet safe and secure way. Which is why more than 1000 companies, 2000 public platforms and over 7 million Belgians trust itsme®.

“We are proud of our partnership with itsme®,” explains Olivier Bouquet, General Manager of Edenred Belgium. “It demonstrates once again that Edenred is fully committed to innovation, simplicity and the high quality of the experience of using our app and our various solutions. Also, everyone knows itsme®: more than 80% of the active adult population uses the itsme® app and this multi-factor authentication provides an additional level of security. itsme® delivers an absolute added value to our millions of users.”
“As Belgium’s favourite ID app, we’re delighted with this new partnership,” says Stephanie De Bruyne, CEO of itsme®. “Because itsme® provides easy, secure and transparent access to the MyEdenred app, we are taking another step towards a reliable and inclusive society.”

In particular, the MyEdenred app enables users to check the balances of their various cheques and vouchers, and to find the local retailers and merchants that accept them via the app’s search engine.

Edenred is constantly investing in enhancing the user experience of its app. In parallel to the introduction of itsme®, Edenred is also launching a brand-new application that is packed with the best of the latest technology. With this new app, users will be able to activate mobile payments via Apple Pay or Google Pay. They can also find local businesses by using the geolocation function, as well as view numerous inspiring articles. Edenred Repas vouchers (formerly Ticket Restaurant) are accepted by tens of thousands of retailers and restaurants in Belgium. About itsme

About itsme®

Since 2017, the itsme® app has been the simple and secure reference for mobile identification and privacy protection in the digital world. Today, itsme® has more than 7 million users and is adopted across more than 20 different sectors. With itsme®, users can: identification (create a new online account and share identity details), authentication (secure and personal access to a website or application), approval of transactions (confirm a purchase or bank payment), electronically sign documents with legal validity (qualified electronic signature with the highest level of assurance), and, finally, share data from an authentic source with a third party (data sharing). These various functionalities account for an average of 35 million itsme® actions per month, or more than 1 million itsme® actions per day.

itsme® was recognized as a digital identity by the Belgian government in January 2018 and at the European level in December 2019 (LOA high eIDAS). The application is widely used in the financial sector as it complies with PSD2, FATF, and GDPR regulations and has obtained ISO27001 certification.

itsme® was developed by the Belgian Mobile ID consortium, which brings together seven leading players from the Belgian banking and telecommunications sectors: Belfius, BNP Paribas Fortis, KBC/CBC, and ING on one side, and Orange Belgium, Proximus, and Telenet on the other. In mid-2021, for the first time since the identity app’s launch, a government fund became a shareholder, acquiring a 20% stake: the Federal Participation and Investment Company (FPIM). Additionally, six other shareholders contributed extra capital, with the aim of taking further steps towards a European digital identity.

Today, the app is available in 16 European countries: Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
