Odoo and itsme partner to bring Qualified Electronic Signatures to businesses

Brussels, September 30th, 2026 - itsme, Belgium's leading digital identity platform, and Odoo, the global provider of open-source business management software, today announced a partnership to integrate Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) capabilities directly into the Odoo Sign application.
The integration will allow Odoo's millions of business users to generate signatures that meet the highest assurance level defined under the EU's eIDAS regulation - legally equivalent to a handwritten signature - without leaving the Odoo platform. By reusing the digital identity that itsme users have already verified through their smartphone app, signers will be able to complete a fully compliant qualified signature in under a minute, combining strong identity verification (via NFC, facial recognition, or personal code) with a certificate issued by a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP).
The integration was driven by growing demand from Odoo customers, including several large companies, for a higher-assurance electronic signature option directly within their existing business workflows. These companies increasingly require qualified signatures for documents where strong identity assurance and the highest level of legal validity are particularly important.
"Businesses increasingly need signatures that are not just convenient, but legally unassailable," said Lise Plaziat, Partnership Manager at itsme. "By embedding our identity and signing infrastructure into Odoo, we're making it effortless for companies of any size to meet the strictest European standards for contracts, HR documents, and regulated transactions."
"Odoo Sign already helps hundreds of thousands of companies move away from paper," said Fabien Pinckaers CEO & Founder at Odoo. "Adding qualified electronic signatures through itsme means our customers can now handle even their most important, legally demanding documents - like powers of attorney or high-value legal agreements - entirely within Odoo."
Key Benefits of the Integration
- Full eIDAS compliance - signatures carry the same legal weight as a handwritten signature and shift the burden of proof to any party disputing them.
- Fast, frictionless signing - signers authenticate through the itsme app they already use, cutting signing time to under a minute.
- Native Odoo workflow - no third-party redirects or separate licenses; QES is available directly within the Sign app alongside Odoo's existing simple and advanced signature options.
- Designed for sensitive and important documents - QES can be used for sensitive or important contracts, documents addressed to government authorities, significant business deals, selected HR use cases, and applications in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals and aerospace, among others.
The QES option will complement Odoo's existing simple electronic signature offering, giving businesses a choice of assurance level depending on the document type and regulatory requirement.
The functionality will be available with Odoo 20, with the itsme integration expected to support high volumes of qualified signatures as adoption grows among Odoo's customer base.
